Self concept versus SELF

Time to Teach

Salvation can be seen as nothing more than the escape from concepts. Where concepts of the self have been laid by is truth revealed exactly as it is. When every concept has been raised to doubt and question, and been recognized as made on no assumptions that would stand the light, then is the truth left free to enter in its sanctuary, clean and free of guilt. There is no statement that the world is more afraid to hear than this:

“I do not know the thing I am, and therefore do not know what I am doing, where I am, or how to look upon the world or on myself.”
Yet in this learning is salvation born. And What you are will tell you of Itself.
~ Ch. 31 V §14 line 3 and §17 line 4 - 9  ~

B.

Chapter 31 V.    Self-concept versus SELF
Lesson 35         My mind is part of God’s. I am very holy

Inquiry

What is a self-concept?
Why is it made?
List all the terms you ascribe to yourself and to the world. (Lesson 14 & 35)
Ponder the story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. (Genesis 2 and 3)
Use this story of ‘creation’ as analogy to the making of the self-concept and the consequent need to awaken.
What is salvation and how is it attained?
How do the workbook lessons you practiced relate to the New Testament statement:”What you bind on earth will be bound in heaven and what you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven”?

Presentation

How do the concept(s) about yourself determine the way you experience the world?
What is the value of questioning all these self-concepts?
Are you willing and ready to have every one of them undone?

I am as God created me

Time to Teach

I am God's Son, complete and healed and whole, shining in the reflection of His Love. In me is His creation sanctified and guaranteed eternal life. In me is love perfected, fear impossible, and joy established without opposite. I am the holy home of God Himself. I am the Heaven where His Love resides. I am His holy Sinlessness Itself, for in my purity abides His Own.

What action of mind reflects your true thinking?
Why is it a good idea to invite, and accept all He created instead of what you made?

Let us experience the reality of this week’s idea!

Certainty of Self

Time to Teach

How happy to be certain! All our doubts we lay aside today, and take our stand with certainty of purpose, and with thanks that doubt is gone and surety has come. We have a mighty purpose to fulfill, and have been given everything we need with which to reach the goal. Not one mistake stands in our way. For we have been absolved from errors. All our sins are washed away by realizing they were but mistakes.
~Lesson 98 §2~

Where does your uncertainty come from?
What is at the root of all your fear, doubt, sickness and pain?
What action and what recognition restore your certainty of Self?
What is the only thing to be certain of?

Presentation

Explain that the uncertainty you experience is inherent to your existence in time and space!
How did you, in your attempt to be separate from God, try to make an uncertain existence seem certain?
Explain that the well being of a large constellation depends on your certainty?

Immediacy of Salvation

Time to Teach

Salvation is immediate. Unless you so perceive it, you will be afraid of it, believing that the risk of loss is great between the time its purpose is made yours and its effects will come to you. In this form is the error still obscured that is the source of fear. Salvation would wipe out the space you see between you still, and let you instantly become as one.
~Chapter 26 VIII §3 line 1-4~

Chapter 18 VII.     I Need Do Nothing
Chapter 26 VIII.    The Immediacy of Salvation

B.

How does the role of body, time and memory shift as you recognize this immediacy?

Presentation

How does this immediacy change the way I fulfill my part in salvation?
