The Salvation Game – our worthwhile Dedication!

 By Karyn Aldin
I remember where I was, 20 years ago or so, when the strangest idea popped into my mind:  what if what I’m seeing outside myself, outside ‘my body’, actually is being projected out of my eyes, instead of truly being there for my eyes to witness to?  It left an impact on me, not because the idea seemed intriguing, but more because it had an unusual feeling of truth that came with it at a time this idea would have otherwise seemed ridiculous to me.

Who was that whispering to me?  At the time I never considered this question, but having come to this present moment, it’s clear there have been perpetual whisperings  throughout my life, guiding me to the x-y coordinate I stand in right now.  And of course, awareness that this ‘space/time’ spot/coordinate actually has no physical reality is itself a product of these guiding whisperings.

The whisperings, lovingly, remain steadfast.  They are the nurturing ‘undoers’ of the insanities of a world so dependent on my dependence on its most esteemed, survival mechanism - guilt.  But having come to a clarity of where my blameworthy world originates (in my guilty mind as prerequisite to its ingeniously insane projection), I am now offered an amazing freedom to forgive and release every such thought, leading to “creation” of a much more pleasant, loving, and genuine world.

“As within, so without” becomes an incredibly significant mantra.  If I can actually step back when an old memory transports me into an outer scene that would be otherwise quite grueling to look upon, then the quick release in my mind and forgiveness of the scene, circumstances, or persons involved (which are all ultimately a product of “me”), really could put me on the “salvation is a game happy children play” gameboard.  Yet granted, this kind of ever-present clarity and conversion can take significant practice and obvious dedication.  In light of this, following are some helpful rules to make this a win-win game for all players:

  1. From here on out, never forget you (meaning all of us) have one function only in this wacky, chaotic world:  conversion of all insane projections that you look upon.  This practice is otherwise known as healing, or forgiveness.

  2. What your heart desires, expects, and invites highly (like totally) influences what you will perceive and make manifest.  So check in regularly with what’s going on in there to make sure what goes on out there is what you’re really wishing on stars for.

  3. On the other hand, if you do end up with running into an uncomfortable projection that makes you feel all the fear and guilt you’d much rather have avoided via some side road, create the side road in the moment . Here’s your lucky card:  “All witnesses to guilt, pain, loss, fear of any kind, etc are not true.”  Use it quickly, convert the scene in your mind to truth, make lemonade out of lemons!  So make love, not war… out of any guilty thought, by allowing it to be undone.

  4. Here’s a good corollary for #3 from Jesus in A Course in miracles:  If you…“looked within, and are afraid of what you saw… you could not have seen reality, for the reality of your mind is the loveliest of God’s Creations.”   So check in, and find a real thought.  It is recognized because it is characterized by this:  ‘love’.

  5. Next, a tough one:  remember that “whenever you look without and react unfavorably to what you see, you have judged yourself unworthy and condemned yourself to death.”    Whew!  You’ve judged yourself unworthy because outer equals inner equals you!  There’s no allowance here for ever reacting unfavorably.  Everything must be seen through the eyes of love, or what is referred to as ‘Christ’s vision’ in A Course in Miracles.  Well then, here’s the nudge again to put on those conversion glasses (the ones with the forgiveness lenses) and practice, practice, practice…

  6. Corollary to #5:  Extend peace to find it.  Extend love to find it, etc.  When you want only love, you will see nothing else.  Again, practice seeing only innocence, looking on all things with charity, love, appreciation, and open-mindedness.  Know nothing is as it appears to you.  Its holy purpose is beyond your range of sight (the good news is you can be sure it has something of value to teach you!)

  7. Try to join, in heart and mind, with what you see.  When you truly love someone or something, you find you’re no longer separate from it, but really begin to experience it as yourself.

  8. Finally, yet obvious by now, and repetitious in a sense though important, the undoing of all your thoughts of self-guilt or ‘apparently-other-guy’ guilt is essential.  Left unaccomplished, you are listening to your little ego’s voice, who unfortunately also is continuing the whispering that you deserve death (as consequence of all this nasty guilt).  Not what you really want in a good salvation game.

  9. Oh, oh, wait….  A final “finally”.  Pay attention to any new whisperings that may come in .  One of them – and the overall feeling is soon – is likely to take you out of this world. That of course is because things seem to be changing a bit ‘rapid-pace’ lately, particularly our minds in a quantum kind of way.   Staying consistent with “as within, so without”, if our minds are headed off the old traditional courses, the ‘world’ has little option but to follow.  And yes, of course, it will leave an impact. But it all hinges on my/your dedication to a singular idea, a single purpose:
Salvation… what a game!
