The Lamp of LoveNancy Sanchez“We who are one cannot be separate. When we are willing to recognize that our relationship is real, guilt will cease to hold attraction over you.” The Kingdom of God is Love. From there arises the commandment that manifests his will for us. “This is my commandment: love one another as I have loved you.” But… How is this love that God asks us to give? A lamp is a good example to explain the love that God is speaking of in his commandment. Love is like a Lamp that offers its light to all. Or can you imagine a lamp that denies its rays to a perverse individual that is trying to walk towards its light? It could only do that if it ceased to be a lamp. The same thing happens with a tree and the shade it offers indiscriminately to all, good and bad, tall and short, man and animal and any living being… even to he who intends to chop and fell it down. This, then, is the primary quality of love: its indiscriminate nature. That is why it urges us to remember our unity with God to be able to observe with pleasure the absolute kindness of the lamp and the tree… let’s contemplate in them the image of what happens with the love that God asks us to give. I’m discovering a new way to experience the miracle of love, and without this experience I wouldn’t be able to perform nor even contemplate the miracles that I am asked to give as the manifestation of the love of God that is found in me. The meaning of the love that I am experiencing is making me sensitive to life, to things, and to people; I’m beginning to feel more and more love toward everything and toward everyone, without excluding anyone. My being is opening to miracles, and these, in their manifestation of love, are cleaning my soul of the hardness that is product of the resentments that keep my mind in conflict. The sensitivity it wakes in my soul in every instant reminds me of who I really am, and the equality that I share with my brothers. It is then when I become available to perform actions in my mind where love blooms up to the surface of life, allowing me to remember that it is in my interior, waiting to be liberated. That love is not something that can be possessed- that love is inside me, and all I have to do is remove the obstacles that I have placed so that it can come out and manifest itself. There are two obstacles that prevent love from manifesting itself permanently in me: Judgement and attachment. Judgement leads me to reach a conclusion about a person, or a thing, anchoring me in a point, and I renounce the possibility of seeing the reflections of reality. As for the attachment that comes from something that gives me satisfaction or pleasure and manifests itself in attractive ways in different forms- with a statement of praise, or with the company of a person… thus comes the desire to attach myself, and following that comes the exclusion of all that which does not form part of the desired. The symphony of life continues to play with exquisite beauty every day, but it will be difficult to enjoy as long as we remain attached to only a few bars of the symphony, closing our ears to the rest. That is how our states of tension and anxiety are begun, which constitute the death of love and the joyful freedom which that love entails. We will only be able to experience love we know how to enjoy each note, in the moment in which they are produced, but without trying to trap them, to enable us to be aware of the next notes. Only a being free of judgements and attachments can recognize their perfect equality with everything and with everyone, and consequently give testimony to the power of God through Miracles. And that will be their only motive to perform them, and there they will find the certainty that there will be no difficulty in manifesting them because the intention will always be to bless all equally. Amen. I looove you Father. Love Nancy. |
